The abundance of wildlife is phenomenal.

Birds as common as the Mallard, various tits etc to the rarer Peregrines or the amusing Tree Creepers are all to be found in or around Keswick.With some effort herds of deer can be seen on the fells or in the woods the Red Squirrel roam and if you are prepared to search out the Badgers they are there in plenty.

  • Sail, canoe, sailboard, swim snorkel or dive come on in the waters fine.
  • Infirm? Most places in the area are accessible with your determination and a little help from a friend.

Our Tourist Information office was once a gaol, and the stone from which it was built was from a monastry on an island in the lake.
